A little about my ideas on breeding

I didn’t set out to be a breeder.  I was looking for my next “competition” dog for obedience and agility and after much research decided on the Malinois.  Over the past several years l have fallen in love with the breed as I have lived with my two and met many others.   My dogs are first and foremost my companions in life, and then partners in competition.   They live in the house with me and I couldn’t  have it any other way.

I plan to have a litter when I intend to keep a puppy, so breedings will be considerably spaced.   As a “performance” person at my core, structure and temperament are key to having a dog with the longevity and attitude that will lead to a long healthy life whether they are working or playing and that their owner will enjoy.   Although, breed type is important, and pretty is always a plus, I will not sacrifice structure or temperament for “just” good looks.  I believe that the Malinois is a versatile breed that can look good and work.  I am not breeding for purely working sports or purely show.   If that is what you are looking for there are other breeders that may be producing something more suitable to your needs and desires in a puppy.

Litters will be evaluated for structure and temperament at 7-8 weeks old prior to puppies being matched with potential homes.

Prospective homes will be screened and will need to complete a buyers questionnaire.  In order to better match puppies with their homes, please be realistic when answering the questionnaire.  All puppies are sold with a written buyers agreement that you may review in advance.  Even though there may be a waiting list and deposit due, I can't guarantee their will be a puppy that will match the desired qualities.  If this happens, your deposit will be refunded.  I will not push anyone to buy a puppy. My biggest desire is that owner and dog will enjoy the next 14 years together.

Before heading home, pups will have their  dew claws removed, first set of vaccinations, CERF exam, and microchip

Is a Malinois the right dog for you?

This is a very active breed that needs mental and physical stimulation.   As herding dogs, they tend to enjoy chasing moving objects.  At times, they can easily train their humans.   This is an intelligent, thinking breed which can sometimes make training extremely fun, or extremely challenging.  My dogs have learned behaviors quickly, but if I made a mistake in training it is hard to change the behavior.
